Creative Problem Solving
Creative Problem Solving is a way of thinking and behaving. Creative - an idea that has an element of being new or unique, at least to the one who creates the solution and also has value and relevancy. Problem - any situation that presents a challenge, a concern or is an opportunity. Solving - devising ways to answer, meet or resolve the problem. Therefore, Creative Problem Solving or CPS is a process, method or system for approaching a problem in an imaginative way that results in effective action. WORKSHOP OBJECTIVES Problems occur in all aspects of life, whether business or personal. Delegates who need to understand and have practical experience of creative problem solving will find this course encourages them to practice in a safe environment. Through practical examples based on their own concerns, delegates leave feeling confident in their ability to apply a number of different techniques to problem solving in a structured way. By the end of this workshop participants will: Understand the need for creativity in solving their day to day problems Have learned the six steps of CPS and some highly imaginative techniques to identify solutions to their problems Have practiced and be confident in a very broad range of CPS techniques
COURSE SCHEDULEThis is a one day 'workshop' style event. DESIGNED FOR The workshop will be of direct value to anyone needing to understand and have a practical experience of solving problems. COURSE OUTLINE The design of this one day learning and participation workshop will cover: The background to CPS, what 'normal' problem solving entails and why we get stuck in a rut An insight as to why delegates think the way they do The general methods of CPS and some eye-opening techniques for solution identification The six steps of CPS providing the 'hands on' ability for the delegates to resolve their chosen problems or opportunities Future action plans for each delegate
The course is very 'hands on' with a strong emphasis on learning by doing. Your current concerns or opportunities form the backbone of the practical work.
