Where do I start?

So you’ve decided that you’d like to take the next step on your professional development journey, but where to start? With so many training providers, different courses and levels available, it can be a daunting experience choosing just what is right for you. We offer an extensive portfolio of accredited courses and workshops, both public and in-house, with all the information you’ll need to make an informed decision. So whatever your situation and needs, we’re ready, willing and able to help.

I know the course I want to take

If you already know exactly which course you’d like to take, use the ‘find a course box ‘to locate the one that you’re looking for and it’s scheduled dates. Simply visit the Courses homepage, enter the course title and start searching. Booking and paying on-line is quick, straightforward and safe.

I really only know which subject in general that I want to study

Ok, so maybe you’re not quite sure which qualification is right for you? No problem. Visit the Courses homepage to browse all courses by subject, check out their features and benefits and pick up some inspiration along the way. You’ll see the qualification levels explained in each course description.

What’s the difference between an accredited course and one of your workshops?

The certificated courses we offer are accredited by one of the Examination Institutes, delivered to a formal syllabus and conclude with a Foundation and /or Practitioner examination. Our workshops are custom designed by ourselves in response to client demand in various areas of specialism. As non-accredited events they have no formal syllabus and so enable the flexibility for much more interaction with and between delegates. This more practical ‘hands-on’ style of training suits many people better with an emphasis on learning by dong rather than on passing an exam. For in-house workshops we can also tailor to client specific need.

How do I enquire about a course?

Once you’ve found a course or event that you’re interested in, you can request more information or ask a question using the ‘Contact’ button. Submitting an enquiry doesn’t commit you in any way to taking the course and there is no limit to the number of enquiries you can make.

Alternatively, why not use the online chat facility? We’re waiting for your call and would love to hear from you.

What happens once I’ve made an Email enquiry?

Once submitted, your details will be passed on to our client support team, who will contact you to provide the information needed.

Can I speak to a trainer in person?

As you will appreciate, our training team spend a lot of their time out in the field but if one of our consultants is in the office then they will be delighted to speak with you. In any event, our knowledgeable support staff will be able to discuss any other requirements you may have, in confidence, and offer suggestions.

Why should I choose pearcemayfield?

Not all training courses and definitely not all training providers are the same. Whether you are choosing for yourself or for your organisation, we recognise that you will be making a significant investment in time and money. Suppliers come and go, some with good credentials, others with a poorer history, so it is important that you choose the training provider who is best for you. We believe that your learning is so much more than just the training event itself and our reputation for providing the very highest quality service from initial enquiry to the training delivery through to post-course support is a matter of pride for us. Check out our values page on the web site and you will see what drives us all and why pearcemayfield stands out from the crowd.

Why aren’t some course dates displayed?

We are constantly scheduling new courses and adding extra dates to meet demand so if you don’t see something that suits you please give us a call. We can record your interest and may be able to arrange something later on.

If I need help after booking my training place, is anyone on hand to offer guidance?

Of course! We aim to provide you with support for your training every step of the way, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns that you may have.

Where do you hold your public training courses?

Our main training venues are in Central London (near Marble Arch), in Oxfordshire (close to Witney) with a fully residential option and at Cardiff University. From time to time we use other locations as well so give us a call to find the nearest one to you.

How long are your courses?

The length of training varies dependent upon the individual course and syllabus but we have options from just one day to a whole week. For in-house events we can tailor the duration and content to client need.

Do some events require pre-course study?

For our accredited courses a comprehensive pre-course materials pack will be sent to you in advance, including in most instances a pre-course workbook. Although not absolutely necessary, completion of this pre-course work is strongly advised. Delegates who complete this workbook before the course begins will find the whole experience much more comfortable, rewarding and enjoyable.

Are there any extras I need to pay for in addition to my registration fee?

With the exception of any residential accommodation supplement no, everything you’ll need is included. Not all training providers offer this all-inclusive package! This includes Foundation and Practitioner Examination Registrations (where appropriate), stationery, A4 pad, highlighters, pop tabs, pens & pencils, folder containing the course work and references, certificate, joining instructions, venue map and directions, syllabus and exam candidate guidance, refreshments and lunches on each course day.

Do you run any special offers?

Look out for special offer prices on some courses as advertised from time to time on our web site and to sent to subscribers on our client database.

Can you explain your membership schemes?

We have three levels to suit all clients and budgets. The Platinum Club for our larger corporate clients who need high volumes of training days; The individual Training Season Ticket, valid for a full 12 months and showing savings of up to 25%; The Early Bird advance bookings discount scheme. For full details about all of these take a look at the ‘for our members’ page.

How can I subscribe to your Newsletter?

It’s easy (and free!). Just click the ‘stay engaged’ button at the foot of any page. We’ll enter you into our database so that you can receive our latest podcasts, videos, white papers and details of special offers and opportunities. You can unsubscribe at any time and your details will not be shared with any third party.

I am looking for PRINCE2 training just to Foundation level only but I see that you only offer the full Practitioner course. Why is this?

Of course you can study PRINCE2 with us and take the Foundation exam only if you wish, no problem.  Just give us a call and we can reserve your place and make the arrangements.

The reason why we do not list this as an option is that many other approved training providers require you to go through an explanation and understanding of the Foundation curriculum first before moving on to the Practitioner elements of the syllabus . We find that this can lead to a dry and tedious ‘cramming’ of the subject matter so instead we coach at both Foundation and Practitioner levels right from the start. This provides delegates with a richer learning experience by applying the method in realistic situations all the way through.

You’d sit the Foundation paper on the afternoon of course day 4, so why not just see how you get on and if you pass Foundation and are confident then stay on and take the Practitioner paper on the morning of Day 5?
