Six Sigma removes the process variations that occur in the process steps of a project while Lean tightens the links between the existing processes. To do this, it follows the 5s technique. According to this technique, five things must be done to bring about streamlining. They are :

In the Lean Six Sigma training at Pearce Mayfield, four courses are offered. These are the Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Upgrade.

Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt- This course introduces the delegates to the basic concepts and methodologies of Lean Six Sigma. It serves as a foundation level course in the Lean Six Sigma training.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt - This course is for those who are either already Yellow Belt certified or wish to learn the concepts of Lean Six Sigma starting from the beginning and delving deeper into it. The Green Belt Certification covers both the concepts of Yellow Belt as well as Green Belt.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt- This course covers the concepts of Lean Six Sigma beyond the Green Belt. One has to be a Green Belt certified professional to take the Black Belt course.

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Upgrade- This is the last in the series. It is similar to the Black Belt except that if a professional is not Green Belt, those concepts will not be taught to the delegate.
