Course Overview

The goal of the Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to install, configure, and operate a small- to medium-sized network. Small networks are defined from 1 to 20 hosts linked to a single switch, through the switch running a single VLAN (VLAN1). The switch is also connected to a router that provides a routed link to the simulated internet and corporate offices.

In this course, delegates will first be taught about introduction to networks, then host-to-host communications using TCP / IP, next Layer 2 devices (switches) will be introduced into the network, and next Layer 3 devices (routers) will be introduced into the network.

Network fundamentals and build simple LANs
Establish internet connectivity
How networks function and its components
How significant components are recognised
The reference model of OSI

Delegates will also be able to recognise how to use the host-to-host packet delivery process. Along with this, they will learn how to define issues allied to increasing traffic on an Ethernet LAN, identity switched LAN technology solutions to Ethernet networking problems and many other advanced skills.
