Brighton is a resort town located on the south coast of England. It is situated between the South Downs to the north and the English Channel to the south.  The city is also a member of the ceremonial county of East Sussex. It has drawn attention in the Middle Ages after the development of the old town, but it becomes dull in the early modern period due to foreign attacks, declining population and recession in the economy. The city has again developed in popularity after enhanced road transport to London and became a boarding point for boats travelling to France. The city began to attract more tourists for sea bathing health resort providing solutions for illnesses and became a most popular seaside destination in the UK for foreign tourists.

The city became famous for its exhibitions, conferences, trade fairs, fantastic shopping areas and diverse communities. It has also been called the country’s most fashionable city and the joyous pace to live in the UK. It is home to various leading companies like railways, steam locomotives, retail and media businesses. Biggest employers of the city in private sector are American Express, Lloyds Bank, Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach Company, Asda and Inkfish, a call centre operator.

Education

The city is one of the country’s largest education providers and has an outstanding reputation for high-quality courses. There are some private, state, language and faith schools in the city providing education to the overseas students also. The University of Sussex was recognised in 1961, situated between Falmer and Stanmer Park and is currently ranked 18^th in the UK and 110^th in the world by the World University Rankings.

Attractions

Brighton was the favourite seaside bolt hole of the Prince Regent. He left his stamp on the city with an assemblage of studded churches, Regency architecture and excellent parks.
