Cirencester is a city located in the east Gloucestershire, England. It is at a distance of 93 miles away from the west northwest of London. It is situated on the bank of the river Chum. Chum joins the Thames near Crick lade in the south.

Cirencester is the largest city of the Cotswold District. The oldest agriculture college of the English world- Royal Agriculture University is situated in this city. This university was founded in 1840.university is located between the Stroud and Tetbury Roads.

 The city is divided into five sub-areas like the town Centre, Stratton, the outskirts of Chesterton, Water moor and the Beaches.  In Roman times, this city was known as Corinium, which was originated from ancient British tribe.

Cirencester had no its own railway station. Kemble railway station is known as the railhead which is 4 miles away from the Cirencester. Airports near to Cirencester are Bristol Airport, Cotswold Airport and Birmingham. In 2013 local elections, the Liberal Democrats won by two seats whereas, in 2017, Joe Harris became the youngest Councilor in the country at the age of 18. The foundation of the famous church Roman Catholic was laid on 20 June 1895.   The church of St. John of Cirencester is famous for the fan vaults and tombs of merchants.

In the dominant political party, the Liberal Democrats won all the 8 seats of Cirencester. The present mayor of Cirencester is Cllr Nigel Robbins. In the famous Corinium Museum, there is an extensive Roman collection. This city is a point of attraction for surrounding areas which provides employment, shops, commerce and education. This city was surrounded by well-reputed schools but in present, mostly the ground of famous schools of nineteenth-century schools has been occupied by housing.
